Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, Garrett County is the westernmost county in Maryland, surrounded by Pennsylvania to the north and West Virginia to the west and south.  The county is home to the Eastern Continental Divide, running along portions of Backbone Mountain which boasts Maryland’s High Point.  The western part of the county, drained by the Youghiogheny River, is the only part of Maryland within the Mississippi River drainage basin.  The remaining approximately 40% of the county are in the Chesapeake Bay basin. Garrett County Farm Bureau Scholarships

Click here to apply for a $2,000 scholarship from Maryland Farm Bureau. The Garrett County Farm Bureau Scholarships (up to four $500 scholarships awarded) is the SAME application as the Maryland Farm Bureau Scholarship. The only addition to the GCFB Scholarship is the “Activities Form”, found here. Applicants must be high school seniors starting college in the fall of 2017 or full time college students at any community or four-year institution. Applicants or their parents/guardians MUST be members of Maryland Farm Bureau. Application deadline is February 1, 2017.
